A very sneaky manoeuvre saw us first away from Gas Street Basin ...
... which in view of the chasing pack made us miss out the Newhall Arm & head off straight down Farmers Bridge.
Descending the locks
Tunnel Love !
About to go under Snow Hill Station
We boated past Aston Junction (whilst breakfasting) ...
... and down Astead Locks
Andi was beginning to wonder what she had let herself in for
We went to the end of the Digbeth Arm ...
... then back out and turned right passed Warwick Bar
Heading along the Grand Union
We then went up the Camp Hill flight and turned at Sampson Road Depot ...
... where we turned round and went back down Camp Hill (and stopped in at a pub for lunch)
Well refreshed, we headed towards Garrison Locks ...
... where a fine figure of a man awaited !
Salford Junction ...
... and Spaghetti Junction
We headed straight on up the Tame Valley Canal, under the M6 ...
... and up Perry Barr Locks
Lock 2
I see no ships !
Turning right at Rushall Junction (just)
Heading up the flight
We eventually stopped at the Manor Arms at Rushall where we had our evening meal ...
.. and celebrated Tim,s birthday (Don't mention the cake !)
After a brief pub stop the night and early morning were spent boating up to Anglesey Basin, around the Wyrley & Essington and down the Walsall Canal
Heading down the Walsall Flight ...
... and into the Walsall Town Arm
Not too many stoppages this year
A relaxed crew on the Walsall
At the top of the Ryders Green flight we were "spotted" by scrutineer Dave Dobbin of Essex WRG
Martin had got up by this point
We turned right at the Junction with the New Main line then left into the Brades Arm and the staircase lock ...
then turned left onto the Old Main Line & under the M5
Due to a stoppage on the Old Main Line we had to turn sharp left down Spon Lane Locks ..
... and left at the bottom back onto the New Main Line..
... where (after a brief pub stop) we were chased by the Wilderness pack
We finally arrived back at Gas Street at exactly 3pm
